Southside Speedway will play host to a double-duty night for the Late Model division for this Friday Night’s Scout Night, brought to you by K-95.

Late Model driver Shane Lockhart rolls into Southside runner-up in the points, 280 points behind points leader Chris Dodson. But Lockhart knows that it’s a long season and anything can happen.

“We’ve been in points battles out there for years and you don’t count those points until the end of the year,” Lockhart said. “Anything can happen between now and then. It’s about winning the races and having the good finishes and keep doing what we are doing and the points will come.”

Behind Dodson and Lockhart in the points is a 3-way battle for third between Chris Hopkins, Brandon Hendrick and Steve Zuskin. All three drivers are tied for the 3rd spot and are still looking for their first win of the season.

The U-Car series will also be in action in a 25-lap main event. Series Points leader Mike Chapman picked up his first win of the season last Friday night and leads Rusty Bennett by 40 points. Austin Dodge, Jamie Hite and David Kerns round out the top five.

Mike Ganoe will be going for 2 in-a-row in the Street Stock division. Brian Smith leads Ganoe by 160 points in the points standings with Ricky Stotler, James Loving and Travis Nicely rounding out the top five.

The CHAMP Karts series will be in action with points leader Buzz Moore trying to pick up his 5th win of the season. David Emory follows behind in second in the points race with Randy Emory in third. Brad Davis sits in 4th, just 40 points ahead of J.D. Eversole in fifth.

This Friday night, all Scouts dressed in uniform will get into the track free. Gates open at 6pm with racing kicking off at 7:30pm. Ticket prices are Adults $10, Seniors (60+) & Military are $8, Ages 6-11 are $5 and Ages 5 & under are FREE.
