Last Friday night, the biggest race at Southside Speedway was the one heading out of the track after heavy rains forced officials to call racing action just before gates opened.

The forecast for this Friday night calls for clear skies and hot temperatures which means even hotter action as both the Late Model and Grand Stock divisions will be in action, brought to you by 93.1 The Wolf.

The Late Models will be in 2 50-lap segment races which means double the points for the night. Late Model driver Shayne Lockhart rolls into Southside leading all drivers in wins this season with 4. But Chris Dodson holds the top position in points due to consistency. Dodson has 2 wins, has finished no worse than fifth this season and leads the standings over Lockhart by 300 points with 6 races remaining.

Chris Hopkins currently sits third in points, just 40 ahead of Brandon Hendrick. Both Hopkins and Hendrick are looking for their first win of the season. Steve Zuskin rounds out the top five.

The Grand Stocks will be competing in 2 30-lap segment races and Tommy Tatum will be the one all the drivers will be chasing. Tatum continues his winning ways, taking home his 4th trophy of the season two weeks ago. Tatum currently leads the points by 280 over second place Daniel Shelton. Shelton is still searching for his first trip to victory lane of the season, but has finished in the top 6 in all races run this season. Shawn Hopkins sits third, just 60 points ahead of Brian Myslivy in 4th. Mark Simpson rounds out the top five.

The UCARís will be at the track competing in a 30-lap main event. David Kearns leads the points by 20 points over second place Mike Chapman. Both drivers have one win a piece on the season with Austin Dodge back in the third position. Rusty Bennett and Charlie Simons round out the top five.

The CHAMP Karts series will be in action in a 20-lap main event and Brad Davis will try to continue the momentum after picking up his second win of the season two weeks ago.
